The long season is nearly over for McPherson College’s volleyball team, which dropped its final home match on the schedule on Wednesday to KCAC-leading Ottawa University in straight sets.
The Bulldogs were overwhelmed from the start, losing 25-16, 25-12, 25-8. It was the final KCAC action for the Lady Braves, who are 19-1 in the conference and 30-4 overall.
Taryn Lee topped Mac in kills with eight, one more than Leia Seiler. Maci Schlehuber came up with 14 assists and Emily Warner added 14 digs.
Former McPherson High All-Stater Bethany Farres, who has won numerous KCAC honors this year for her setting, had a whopping 28 assists to quarterback the OU offense.
The Bulldogs are now 2-17 in the KCAC and will not qualify for postseason play. They’ll try to finish 8-24 overall on Saturday when they travel to Southwestern.
