If you live in the City of McPherson, you should receive a bag on your front door Saturday.

Bob Carson told Friday Magazine the bags are for the Kiwanis' Christmas Basket Food Drive and they are looking for help in feeding those who need it this holiday season.

“Any canned goods we can get,” Carson said. “Because we buy hamburger, milk, and butter, and bread and eggs but it in the baskets. We just like to have all kinds of canned goods. Especially corn. We always have to buy canned corn.”

The Kiwanis don't just rely on the bags for donations, either, as a number of area businesses pitch in to help, as well..

“Farmers Alliance [Mutual Insurance] always helps us,” Carson said. “We get three or four pickup loads of food from Farmers Alliance every year.”

If you wish to sign up to receive a Christmas Basket from the Kiwanis, you can do so at the McPherson Senior Center.

The bags will be picked up Nov. 14.
