The ReUse It Center is getting ready to move into its new facility, though there were some concerns the facility was closing up shop, instead.
“Because the for sale sign has been up on the building, people thought, 'are you quitting?'” LaVon Ediger, ReUse It Center Director of Operations, said. “No, in fact, we're expanding.”
The center is moving to it's new location at the former, and long vacant, TG&Y building located at the southwest corner of the intersection of West Kansas Avenue and the 81 Bypass. The last day at their current location at 1060 West Kansas Avenue is Saturday and the center will be shut down for three weeks for the move.
The decision to relocate was not an easy one for the board of directors, Ediger said.
“Those of you that have been there know the crowded aisles and the crowdedness outside,” he said. “The board had to decide do we quit taking as much in, or do we expand this current building or do we look for a new location?”
The new facility is planned to be opened on Dec. 1.
