WINFIELD — It was a long year for the McPherson College volleyball team.
The Bulldogs finally ended their season on Saturday with a four-set loss to Southwestern. They did not qualify for postseason play as the top eight finishers advanced, with Bethany and Bethel also on the outside looking in.
Mac occupied the KCAC basement with a 2-18 record — both wins coming against Saint Mary — and finished 7-25 overall.
Lexi Kite led in kills with 10, while Rhianna Smith was tops in assists with 15, one more than Maci Schlehuber. Emily Warner, who will be in line for KCAC honors despite the Bulldogs’ record, had 24 digs as her season probably didn’t go unnoticed by the other conference teams.
The Bulldogs lose three seniors — Taryn Lee, Renee Fredrickson and Micaela Dimmitt.
