LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s football team will be honoring our veterans during its season finale on Saturday at Anderson Field.
The Bethany athletic department is inviting all military members, active or retired, to attend and be thanked and recognized for their service to the country.
"Veterans hold a special place in my heart,” Bethany coach Paul Hubbard said. “Both of my grandfathers served in World War II and I hold what veterans have done for us as a country in high regards. We are land of the free because we have brave men and women that are willing to go where normal citizens will not."
Military members and their families will get free admission to the game. Members will also be recognized for their service at halftime.
"In honor of Veterans Day, we wanted to express a small measure of appreciation for all who have served and are currently serving. We hope that what we are doing in some way shows how thankful we are," Bethany Athletic Director Dane Pavlovich said.
McPherson College will be the Swedes’ opponent. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. It’s also Senior Day for the Swedes.
