ST. CLOUD, Minn. — McPherson High graduate Tim Prescott, the NCAA Division II wrestling champion at 125 pounds last year, was among those honored at the St. Cloud State University banner ceremony last week.

Prescott had a permanent banner raised for his individual championship and the St. Cloud team also hoisted its team championship banner. Prescott said a reason he picked St. Cloud after two outstanding years at Neosho County was that he knew the team would contend for a national title and he wanted to do his part to make that dream become a reality.

Prescott, who made four Final Fours while at McPherson High and then was a two-time All-American at Neosho, is back this winter to defend his national championship. He is the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the preseason and the Huskies are ranked No. 2 in the NCAA Division II preseason poll.
