McPherson High’s Jack Reifschneider made the AVCTL Division III football first team at two positions to highlight the Bullpups’ All-League selections announced today.

Reifschneider was a first-team defensive back and first-team special teams player as he had several outstanding kickoff and punt returns.

Jake Nikkel and Klayton Goering were the other Bullpups to receive first-team honors, Nikkel in the offensive line and Goering at running back, as his late-season surge caught voters’ eyes.

The Bullpups went to town with numerous selections on the second team. Offensive players to earn honors were quarterback Casen Hoover, running back Noah Jirgens, receiver Spenser Wine, and offensive linemen Luke Stucky and Derek Hall.

Defensively, linemen Stucky and Karsten Hardeman were picked, as were linebacker Britton Bate and safety Casey Cheek.

Bullpups to make honorable mention on offense were Reifschneider at wide receiver, Stucky at tight end (he split time at tackle) and Dylan Baldwin as a lineman. Defensively, ends Kaleb Jost and Wyatt Seidl earned the nod, as did Goering and Jayse Alexander at linebacker and Tyson Stites in the secondary.

Buhler’s outstanding running back Dillon Engelland was named the league's Offensive  MVP and teammate Jaden Abernathy was the Defensive MVP. The Crusaders’ Steve Warner was tabbed Coach of the Year. Buhler was eliminated from the Class 4A Division I playoffs on Friday with a 17-14 loss to Topeka Hayden, the second year in a row the Wildcats have ended the Crusaders' season.
