Central Christian College’s men’s basketball team will be on the grand stage tonight when the Tigers play an exhibition game at Fort Hays State.
Game time at cavernous Gross Coliseum is 7 p.m. The game does not count on Central’s record since Fort Hays State is an NCAA Division II school.
The Tigers are continuing a busy stretch of games. This is will be their fourth in six days, which includes two in the Classic for Christ this past weekend and then Monday against Manhattan Christian — all of them victories that pushed their record to 5-1.
Coach Tony Romero basically rotates about eight players, so depth could be a concern tonight given the heavy minutes his regulars have logged.
Romero said his team “is looking forward to it,” and that to be in the game, it must not allow offensive rebounds and second-chance opportunities.
Fort Hays State is 2-0 on the season, winning its two games by a total of three points. The Tigers also have played KU and Kansas State in exhibition games.
McPherson High All-Stater Kyler Kinnamon, who helped the Bullpups to back-to-back state championships, is a freshman back-up point guard for the Tigers. He had six points and three assists on Sunday in a one-point victory.
