McPherson College is looking for a new volleyball coach.

Susan Barton, the Bulldogs’ head coach for the past eight years, has submitted her resignation.

Barton was 92-168 during her tenure. This past season the Bulldogs were 2-18 in the KCAC and 7-25 overall. This season was the first time since 2007 that the team had missed qualifying for the KCAC Postseason Tournament.

"It was a pleasure working with Susan and I appreciated the effort she put towards the volleyball program," McPherson College Athletic Director Andrew Ehling said. "I wish her all the best in her next endeavor."

Barton produced 21 All-KCAC athletes, including four first-team selections. In her eight years, McPherson also had 11 NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athletes. Following the 2011 season, Kory Hiebert was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.

Barton’s best season was 2010 when the Bulldogs were 20-10 overall, 11-7 in the KCAC.

The coaching vacancy is being posted on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and McPherson College websites, and a national search will begin immediately.
