New details on the sudden resignation of Terry Jones as McPherson's Community Development Director.

A mugshot obtained by KBBE News Thursday confirmed that Jones was arrested Monday evening just after 5 p.m. by McPherson Police officers on a charge of driving while suspended. He was released from the McPherson County Jail after posting $320 bond.

It was Jones' first day on the job as Community Development Director.

McPherson City Commissioners Bob Moore and Larry Weins voted to accept Jones' resignation from the city after a 20 minute executive session Wednesday in a special meeting. Mayor Tom Brown was not present.

City officials declined comment at the time of the meeting as to the full details of Jones' resignation.

The position will be re-advertised as soon as possible.
