The wintry weather hasn't translated into problems in McPherson County.

As of 5:40 a.m., McPherson County Dispatch hadn't reported any accidents during the overnight hours due to the freezing rain and sleet that fell through the evening hours and into overnight.

The Kansas Department of Transportation is reporting that roads in McPherson County are partly icy, including Interstate 135, though it does become a little more hazardous as you go south of Moundridge and into Harvey County. Roads west into Rice County are also being reported as completely snowpacked or icy.

As far as power outages go, the McPherson Board of Public Utilities is only reporting 2 on North Main as of 5:45 a.m. this morning. Westar Energy is only reporting one outage in Wichita and nine in Lawrence this morning.

The National Weather Service in Wichita is continuing the Winter Storm Warning for McPherson and surrounding counties until 6 a.m. Saturday. Freezing rain and sleet are expected to continue off-and-on throughout the day until around 5 p.m., with more freezing rain likely before 9 p.m.

The NWS is reporting that little to no new ice accumulation is expected.
