KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Central Christian College’s women’s soccer team led on three separate occasions today in the NCCAA National Tournament.

The third time was the charm.

Isabel Sierra’s goal with just over 12 minutes left in the game gave the Lady Tigers a 3-2 victory over Trinity Christian, which qualified as a minor upset since CCC was the No. 5 seed and Trinity was No. 4.

Each time Central led, Trinity had an answer. Jaclyn Caranza gave the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead and Krystina Stackhouse, off an assist from Sierra, put CCC back up 2-1 after Trinity had scored its first goal.

Trinity tied the game at 2-all just 75 seconds after Stackhouse’s goal. However, Sierra came up with the game-winner after an assist by Amber Murray.

Central’s Shayna Watkins came up with five saves in goal. Trinity Christian outshot Central, 14-5, but the Lady Tigers made the most of their chances.

Central play No. 1-ranked Mississippi College at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
