KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Top-seed Mississippi College scored two goals in each half today to defeat Central Christian College’s women in their second pool game of the NCCAA National Tournament.
The Lady Tigers, now 1-1 in pool play, return to action Thursday, though their chances for a national championship were dashed with the loss. The top two pool finishers play for the title.
Four different players scored for Mississippi College, which fired off 27 shots to just two for Central. Shayna Watkins did make nine saves for the Lady Tigers to keep the margin somewhat close.
Central, now 19-6, goes for its 20th win of the season on Thursday against Trinity Lutheran College.
