Work was able to progress last week on the Avenue A reconstruction project before the ice storm moved in.

McPherson Public Works Director Jeff Woodward says the contractor was able to get part of the sidewalk laid.

“It's actually completed from Tulip Street east approximately one-half a block,” Woodward said. “The street tie-ins at Tulip Street and the west Sycamore tie-in is complete.”

As for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Road reconstruction, Woodward reports all the drives on the west side have been completed.

“Obviously, we're going to be down for a few days here to dry things out,” Woodward said. “But it looks like weather might be more conducive to construction at the end of the week.”
