WICHITA — NCAA Division II school Newman University doubled Central Christian College’s women 78-39 in an exhibition basketball game Thursday night.

Heather Crittenden showed that she can play at that level as she poured in 16 points to lead the Lady Tigers, who actually trailed only 17-13 after the first 10 minutes.

This game did not count toward Central’s record since Newman is NCAA D-II. The Lady Tigers take a 2-7 record into a home game Saturday afternoon against Ozark Christian. The action begins at 3 p.m. at Alexander Arena.

Central (39) — Crittenden 16, Young 7, Brooks 6, Banks 2, Garza 3, Campa 3, Lopez 2.

Newman (78) — Wright 8, Olerich 6, Harrison 2, Robinson 7, DeGrate 9, Hausmann 12, Caldwell 12, Krstevska 7, Buckner 10, Wilkinson 2, Gonzalez 3.
