GODDARD — McPherson’s seventh-grade A-girls swamped Goddard Eisenhower 40-12 on Monday, while the B-team also was victorious, 28-17.
Both teams are now 3-0.
In the A-game, MMS led 22-2 at the halftime break. Kassidy Beam tallied 12 points and was augmented by Belle Alexander with 10.
“The girls continued to be aggressive on defense, which led to many fastbreak opportunities,” MMS coach Jacque Gehrt said. “We need to work on finishing some of the close shots and putbacks. I was proud of their effort on both ends of the floor tonight.”
The B-team was up only 13-11 at the half before dominating the second half.
Shelby Yowell’s 10 points were tops.
“After a slow start we got more aggressive on both ends of the court and finished strong,” MMS coach Grant Myers said. “We did a good job handling adversity during the game. It was a good growing experience for the girls and should help them the rest of the year.”
The Bullpups play Thursday at Andover Central.
