Central kickers well decorated

Predictably, after one of the best seasons in school history, Central Christian College’s women’s soccer team was well decorated.

Six Lady Tigers earned All-AII distinction, including MacKenzie Woods and Isabel Sierra on the first team. Second-team honors went to Krystina Stackhouse, Amber Murray and Shayna Watkins. Madison Strickland was honorable mention.

Stackhouse is the only senior. Woods is a sophomore, while Sierra, Murray, Watkins and Strickland are freshmen.

At the recent NCCAA national tournament, the Lady Tigers went 2-1 in pool play as they were one of the top four finishers. Stackhouse and Woods made the All-Tournament Team and Stackhouse was tabbed second-team All-America.

Central, guided by second-year coach Scott Fogarty, finished the year with a 20-6 record after winning only five games last season. Haley McMath was the team’s only other senior other than Stackhouse, so the future is bright.
