MOUNDRIDGE — The Inman girls put their first mark in the victory column with a harrowing 41-39 decision Thursday over Lyons.
The Teutons trailed 20-18 at the half and the game may as well have been played in a phone booth as it was that close. A 12-8 third-quarter run put Inman up two going into the final quarter. Inman had to hold off a 3-point barrage by the Lions, who knocked down eight in the game.
Namoi Williams topped Inman, now 1-2, with 14 points.
The Teutons have a tough task tonight as they take on the host Wildcats.
• LYONS BOYS 48, INMAN 38 — The Teutons continue to have trouble scoring points as they have been stuck in the 30s during an 0-3 start.
Their defense kept them in the game and they actually were up 20-17 at the half. But a wide 16-4 edge in the fourth quarter rallied the Lions.
Lucas Barlow and Walker Strange scored 12 points apiece for Inman and Keaton Case added 10.
It’s rivalry night as the Teutons and Moundridge hook up in the final game of the three-day classic.
