NORTH NEWTON — Central Christian College’s women experienced a point outage Thursday night.

The Lady Tigers never scored more than seven points in any quarter as they were just 9 of 50 for the game from the field as Bethel ran away for a lopsided 78-24 victory.

Abbie Banks was the lone Lady Tiger to have any semblance of a warm hand with 11 points. She was 4 of 8 from the field, while her teammates were 5 of 42.

Elise Gerlach led Bethel with 16 points.

“Not a lot of good things to talk about tonight,” CCC coach Chris Honeck said. “We played soft, we rushed our offense and we didn't defend the way we practiced. We were rushing shots all night tonight and it showed in our shooting percentage. We didn't communicate on defense at all, and that showed in how many easy shots they got. We were outhustled for most of the night and made some mistakes against their press that were more from a lack of focus than because of their pressure. We've got one more game before Christmas break, and our challenge will be to end the first half of the season on a positive note."

Central is now 3-8. It plays on Saturday at Union College in Nebraska before taking a break for the holidays.

Central (24) — Laskowski 2, Young 3, Banks 11, Woods 4, Austin 1, Redenbaugh 1, Lopez 2.

Bethel (78) — Scott 12, Tschetter 6, Ulrich 7, Gerlach 16, Schunn 6, Rich 7, Schmeider 7, McKinney 4, McDowell 4, Chapple 5, Carbonell 2, Schroeder 2.
