Little River loses pair to Goessel

GOESSEL — Tournament host Goessel took both ends of a doubleheader with Little River on Friday.

The Little River girls could not recover from a 20-4 first-quarter deficit in losing, 52-33. Melanie Renken topped Little River with nine points.

• GOESSEL BOYS 42, LITTLE RIVER 33 — After leading by a point after a quarter, Little River was hit with a 16-7 second-quarter deficit and could never come back.

Clay Zeller led Little River with 11 points.

Both Little River teams are now 0-3.
