Heavy rains bring flooding to central Kansas

Heavy rains have created flooding problems for McPherson County over the weekend.

Reports from around the area range from about 2.50 inches to over 3 inches, with the National Weather Service reporting 3.20 in McPherson as of 10:30 p.m. last night. That has created some flooding issues around the county, though McPherson County Communications reports that, as of 6 a.m., the only issue in the city of McPherson was some water over the road on Avenue A.

Around the county, some low-lying roads may still be underwater as you get up and around this morning, so, as always, law enforcement would like to remind you to turn around, don't drown.

Canton-Galva has delayed school one hour this morning due to the high waters. Southeast of Saline in Saline County has closed school completely, as flooding around the Gypsum Creek remains a concern.
