GARDEN PLAIN — The Hesston girls have a one-game winning streak.

A night after seeing their 43-game winning streak come to an end against tourney host Garden Plain, the Swathers bounced back Saturday with a rousing 40-24 rout of Class 4A and AVCTL Division III member Rose Hill.

The Swathers held to the Rockets to just seven points in the first half.

Hesston had nice balance, with Cami Richardson leading the way with 12 points. Kailey Jo Ince had a nice game off the glass with 10 rebounds and Richardson dealt seven assists.

The Swathers are now 3-1.

• HESSTON BOYS 59, ROSE HILL 34 — It was a laugher for the Swathers, as playing the bigger school didn’t faze them.

Garrett Roth had a career night with 18 points, while Scott Duerksen chipped in with 16. Jon Weber also hit for double digits with 11.

Hesston is now 3-1, its only loss a one-pointer to Buhler.
