The final basketball action of 2015 at the Sport Center takes place today.

McPherson College’s women will host Southwestern Christian University, with a special 5:30 p.m. tipoff. It’s part of a two-day junket for the Eagles, who play Friday at KCAC member Bethel College.

It’s “Cedars Night,” so all residents will be admitted free. The game will be carried on  96.7 KBBE-FM with Chris Swick on the call beginning at 5:20.

The Bulldogs are hoping to head into Christmas with back-to-back wins as they are coming off a thrilling 74-69 upset of former ranked team Oklahoma Wesleyan on Tuesday.

Mac is 4-10 on the season and moved to 3-5 in the KCAC with the much-needed win, which snapped a five-game losing streak. Ashton Bruner led five players in double figures with 19 points and completed her double-double with 10 rebounds. Bailey Brown (15), Georgia Smart (14), Kristina Battle (12) and Sunny Smart (10) also scored in double figures.

Southwestern Christian is 4-6 on the season, but does own a victory over Friends of the KCAC. The Eagles feature one of the better players the Bulldogs will see in Eliora Johnson, who averages a double-double with 12.7 points and 10.2 rebounds.

Following tonight’s game, the Bulldogs play two more games before the New Year as they compete Dec. 29-30 in the La Quinta Classic in Salina, hosted by Kansas Wesleyan.
