BC women falter in second half

LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s women’s basketball team was halfway home to an upset Friday night.

The Swedes led Haskell 32-29 at halftime, but the Indians stormed back with 22 points in each of the final two quarters for a 73-53 victory.

Joleen Chanco led the Swedes with 18 points. Bethany played without top scorer Adriane Davis, out with an injury.

Haskell outscored Bethany 22-12 in the third quarter and 22-9 in the fourth.

Bethany, now 4-10, is right back in acton today as it plays an exhibition game against UMKC in Kansas City.
