A McPherson County farmer is offering a $5,000 for information leading to whomever mutilated a cow on New Year's Day.

KWCH reports that the farmer, John Shearer, found the cow dead and missing her eyes right around 10 a.m. Friday north of Canton. This follows a similar incident two weeks ago in Harvey County in which another farmer found a bull dead and the sex organs removed.

Shearer and his family are offering the reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

The McPherson County game warden is investigating the Shearer case, while the Harvey County Sherrif's Office is looking into the Dec. 18 incident.
