Arkansas men arrested on drug charges in I-135 bust

McPherson County Sheriff's deputies arrested two Arkansas men early Saturday on drug charges after a stop on Interstate Highway 135.

Deputies pulled over the vehicle in question just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday at southbound mile marker 63. During the stop, they arrested Robert Painter, 24, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and David Bogan, 29, also of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Painter was booked on felony possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released from the McPherson County Jail after posting $2,500 bond.

Bogan was booked on misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.

No reason for the initial traffic stop was available.
