LAWRENCE — This one was over practically after it just got started.

Haskell’s women sprinted to a 22-8 first-quarter lead and later had a 33-point third quarter to highlight an 87-46 rout of Bethany College on Monday.

The game was a tune-up for the Swedes, now 4-11, as they host Southwestern on Thursday in the return to KCAC action.

Dominique Davis led the Swedes with 14 points and Joleen Chanco chipped in with 10. Smoky Valley graduate Kimi Lindshield just missed double figures with nine and also pulled down seven rebounds.

Ember Sloan came off the bench to lead Haskell with 24 points.

The Swedes did not have leading scorer Adriane Davis, who was injured in the final KCAC game before the Christmas break.
