Little River swept by Rural Vista

HOPE — Rural Vista swept Little River in basketball games played on Tuesday.

Rural Vista’s boys eventually pulled away in the second half for a 60-43 victory. Little River was able to hang around until the third quarter, when Rural Vista used a 17-point period to open up some breathing room.

Clay Zeller and Jeb Sauer were much of the Little River offense with 19 and 17 points, respectively.

Zeller completed his double-double with 10 rebounds.

• RURAL VISTA GIRLS 31, LITTLE RIVER 28 — The game was tied after three quarters, but Rural Vista denied Little River its second win as it allowed only four points in the final quarter.

It was 24-all going into the fourth stanza.

Melanie Renken led a balanced Little River offense with seven points.
