The McPherson College baseball and softball teams will be hosting their “First Pitch Dinner” at 5 p.m. on Jan. 30 at the Best Western Holiday Manor Convention Center.
The purpose of the event is to meet the 2016 teams as well as an auction fundraiser.
More than 30 live and silent auction items will be availlable for people to bid on. The live auction will begin at 7:30 p.m. Some of the items include a weekend retreat in Mesquite, Nevada, a golf outing at Cottonwood Hills in Hutchinson, an engraved Red Rider BB Gun, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, multiple gift baskets and so much more
Cost is $20 per person, $30 per couple, or $50 per family (up to two adults and three children).
Nick Sullivan, a former athlete for the University of Nebraska, will be the keynote speaker. While at Nebraska, he was a four-year baseball letter winner and also was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for all eight semesters. He was a two-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 and made ESPN the Magazine First Team Academic All-District VII in 2008.
Originally from Arvada, Colo., Sullivan is now an attorney at law for Erickson, Sederstrom in Omaha, Neb.
