SOLOMON — Solomon dealt Little River’s basketball teams a pair of setbacks on Friday.
The Little River girls had one of their best offensive nights of the year, but it went for naught in a 60-53 loss.
Little River trailed 27-22 at the half, but scored 19 third-quarter points to work its way back into it. The Redskins could never quite get over the hump in the fourth quarter.
Melanie Renken scored a career-high 24 points to lead Little River.
Little River’s boys were right there with the Gorillas after a quarter as it was a one-point game, but Solomon went on a 20-4 tear in the second period to spark a 55-29 victory.
Clay Zeller was much of the Little River offense with 15 points.
