The Smoky Valley girls were oh so close to extending their winning streak to four games on Friday.
The Vikings, who had been 3-0 since the calendar flipped to 2016, led Haven by four points with just under 2 minutes to play, but the Wildcats staged a furious comeback for a 37-34 victory.
Smoky Valley led 21-18 at the half before Haven scratched back to tie the game after three quarters. The Vikes appeared to get control of the game early in the fourth, but Haven made enough plays to win it.
Katie Bellah led a balanced Smoky Valley offense with 11 points.
The hard-luck Viking boys suffered yet another heart-breaking loss, 48-47. They were down eight in the fourth quarter when they made a huge comeback, only to come up short.
The one-win Vikings, who could easily be a .500 team as they have lost some close games, were led by Jason Adam with 15 points, while Nick Reinert chipped in with 13.
