Crews will be finishing up the final touches on the Wastewater Treatment Plant Road project.

“The project is substantially complete,” Jeff Woodward, McPherson City Public Works Director, said. “The only thing that remains is to seed the area, and that will happen as soon as weather permits.”

Phase II of the Avenue A reconstruction will begin later in the spring.

McPherson County road crews, meanwhile, will be begin pipe replacement work on 24th Avenue, which is going to cause some inconvenience for drivers over the next several days.

Crews will be starting the replacement project between Pawnee and Pueblo Roads starting tomorrow, which will force the closure of 24thf or that stretch. The road will remain closed through at least Jan. 26.

Other projects over the next week for county public works include a pipe repair on Overland Road between 22nd and 30th Avenues and ditch maintenance on both 17th Avenue between Limestone and Moccasin Roads and 21st Avenue between Pawnee and Pioneer.

As always, McPherson County Public Works urges caution when driving through all work zones.
