Central Christian College’s nationally ranked men’s basketball team is making the long 9-hour road trip to Espanola, New Mexico, for two games in two days.

The No. 9 Tigers, 13-3 on the season, play Northern New Mexico College tonight in a two-day classic. Game time is 7 p.m., with a game Saturday set for 3 p.m. against Johnson and Wales of Denver.

This is the first time the Tigers have played Northern New Mexico, which is 8-9 on the year. They are 2-1 against Johnson and Wales, but the teams haven’t played since 2012. The Wildcats are 10-12 on the season.

Coach Tony Romero’s team has been putting a lot of miles on the bus as it played this past Monday in Joplin, Mo., winning 96-59 over Ozark Christian College.

The Tigers finally return home on Tuesday to host Barclay College, then Northern New Mexico is here Wednesday for a rematch.
