STERLING — The Smoky Valley girls salvaged seventh place Friday in the Sterling Invitational.

The Vikings, who had struggled offensively through the first two games in the tournament, found their groove with a 53-38 victory over Trinity Catholic.

The Vikings used a big second half, outscoring the Celtics 29-18, after being up only 24-20 at the half.
