STERLING — Smoky Valley’s boys have strung back-to-back wins together for the first time this year.
The Vikings took fifth place Friday in the Sterling Classic with a 54-43 victory over Hutchinson Trinity.
The Vikes started slowly, down 16-13 at the half, but caught fire in the third quarter with 25 points.
Leading scorer Nick Reinert didn’t play due to illness, but Brett Heitschmidt stepped up with 15 points and Jason Adams added 10. Trey Schneider just missed doubles with nine.
The Vikings finished the tournament 2-1 after having won just one game prior to this week.
