McPherson College’s basketball teams take to the road Saturday for KCAC match-ups with Friends.
The women start at 5 p.m. and the men at 7 at The Garvey Center.
The Mac women will be trying to pull off an upset as Friends is 9-4 in the KCAC while the Bulldogs are 7-7. In the first meeting at the Sport Center, the Bulldogs erased a 16-point deficit in the second half and took a one-point lead late, but All-America candidate Shann Sellers scored on a layup with 2 seconds left to give the Falcons the win.
In the men’s game, the Bulldogs will be looking for their first back-to-back KCAC wins this year. They are 3-11 in the conference, but coming off arguably their best game of the year with an 83-66 rout of Kansas Wesleyan.
Friends, which returns four starters from a team that made nationals last year, has slumped to 6-7, but still considered dangerous. The Falcons defeated the Bulldogs 81-66 in the first meeting at the Sport Center.
