MHS boys remain No. 1

McPherson High’s boys have kept their hold on the No. 1 ranking in Class 4A Division I, according to polls released today by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.

Basehor-Linwood remains No. 2, while the rest of the Top 5 includes Paola, Abilene and Hays. Andale, which lost to MHS last Tuesday, is No. 6 with the rest of the Top 10 including Miege, Wamego, Buhler and Eudora.

The McPherson High girls’ first loss of the year last week to Shawnee Mission Northwest dropped them a spot to No. 3, trailing Miege and Wellington.

Kansas City Piper and Paola are Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. The rest of the Top 10 includes Labette County, Chanute, Abilene, Circle and DeSoto.

The Hesston boys are No. 4 in Class 3A, trailing Osage City, Riverton and Sabetha. Hesston’s girls are No. 8, with Silver Lake at the top.

Moundridge, which lost its second game of the season last week to Life Prep, is No. 6 in Class 2A. Central Plains is still No. 1.
