LR cagers split with Goessel

GOESSEL — The Little River boys outlasted Goessel 39-34 Tuesday night.

Little River led 22-18 at the half and stretched the advantage to 10 by the end of three quarters before the Bluebirds made a bit of a run.

Clay Zeller had a monster game for Little River, fashioning 18 points and nine rebounds to just miss a double-double.

• GOESSEL GIRLS 69, LITTLE RIVER 41 — Athletic Goessel sprinted to a 31-17 halftime lead and had no trouble keeping the momentum with 38 second-half points.

Melanie Renken led Little River with nine points.
