HESSTON — The Hesston boys didn’t miss a beat after a long layoff.
The Swathers were on fire offensively Tuesday as they rolled past Sterling, 71-48. The victory was highlighted by a 25-point explosion in the second quarter.
Jon Weber had it going with a 23-point outburst. Balance was a key as Scott Duerksen added 14, Zach Esau tallied 12 and Garrett Roth furnished 11.
The Swathers rang up seven 3-pointers.
The Hesston girls were dealt a 62-57 setback in a game that went overtime.
The extra session produced a lot of scoring as the Black Bears tallied 17 points to pull away.
Cami Richardson and Kailey Jo Ince scored 23 and 19 points, respectively, to lead Hesston.
