ELYRIA — Elyria Christian Junior High’s boys outlasted Centre 33-28 Thursday to move into the semifinals of Wheat State League Postseason Tournament.

The Eagles will play Goessel at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.

“The kids held it together and pulled it out,” ECS coach Ernie Heikes said. “Their defense was great and the key to winning the game. The offense held on well enough to pull it through. It was a tough game.”

Elyria led 14-10 at the half and upped the advantage to seven heading into the final quarter.

Josef Hobson topped the Eagles with 17 points.
