YORK, Neb. — Call it a case of tired legs.

Central Christian College’s basketball teams, playing their third game in four days, dropped both ends of a road twinbill against old MCAC rival York College on Monday.

It was an especially painful loss for the Lady Tigers, 79-76. Central practically ran York out of the gym for a 44-31 halftime lead and still led 60-46 going into the fourth quarter as the Panthers showed the beginnings of a rally with the final six points of the period after trailing 60-40.

But CCC’s defense collapsed, giving up 33 points in the final 10 minutes.

Heather Crittenden scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Lady Tigers. Abbie Banks had a huge game off the bench with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. MacKenzie Woods added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Central is now 8-17.

• YORK MEN 70, CENTRAL 57 — The Tigers made just 23 of 53 shots and were just 2 of 10 from 3-point as they suffered from a power outage.

Alonzo Stafford kept the game from being totally out of hand for the Tigers with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Sam Clayborn added 11 points.

The Tigers, now 16-7, played from behind the entire night, scoring a mere 21 points in the first half.

Both Central teams stay on the road for return games on Friday and Saturday against College of the Ozarks and Haskell, respectively. The teams just played this past weekend at Alexander Arena.
