McPherson College soccer coach Doug Quint has turned to one of his own to fill his open assistant coaching vacancy.

Brooks Walsh, a former standout player for Quint at Mac, has been introduced as the newest member of the Bulldog coaching staff. He has been serving as an assistant coach at College of the Canyons.

"The fact that Brooks has such a deep regard for this program and is familiar with our expectations made the decision for me easy. He's going to do a great job and I look forward to working with him,” Quint said.

Walsh had been on the College of the Canyons staff since 2014 and also is assistant boys soccer coach at Harvard Westlake High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

"I am very excited to return to the program and the college,” Walsh said. "I always loved my time there as a student and player. I can't wait to come back and give something back to the program that gave me so much."

Walsh played in 37 career games in his two years as a Bulldog. He was a two-time All-KCAC selection and tallied 16 goals and 12 assists for 44 points.

Walsh has previous coaching experience at Mac, serving as an assistant in 2013 when the the Bulldogs were second in the KCAC.

He holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National "D" License and graduated in 2013 from McPherson College with a degree in history and politics.
