LITTLE RIVER — The Little River girls have made marked improvement this season, even if they haven’t won very many games.
But Friday they came away with a 42-36 victory over Rural Vista after staging a huge second-half rally.
Down 16-10 at the half, the Redskins outscored the Heat 32-20 in the second half to come away with the victory. Allie Peters knocked down 10 free throws on her way to a team-high 15 points to lead the winning cause.
The Redskin boys also had a close game, prevailing 45-41. Like the girls, it was a big second half that led the way as Little River had a 26-17 edge after the break.
Clay Zeller, as he has all season, put up big numbers in the winning effort. He poured in 20 points, making 8 of 14 floor shots. Jeb Sauer just missed doubles with nine.
