Hesston sweeps Haven

HESSTON — It took the Hesston girls a while to get going on Friday, but when they did they couldn’t be stopped.

Down 23-17 early in the third quarter, the alarm went off for the Swathers as they scored 37 points the rest of the way for a 54-36 victory.

Kailey Jo Ince topped the Swathers with 18 points, while Cami Richardson made 11 of 15 free throws to spark her 16-point game.

Hesston wound up scoring 21 points in the third quarter and 18 in the fourth.

The Hesston boys shook free from Haven with a 16-4 burst in the fourth quarter in a 52-34 success.

The twice-beaten Swathers were led by Scott Duerksen with 17 points. Zach Vogt chipped in with 11.
