HUTCHINSON — With the McPherson College Bulldogs being displaced to Hutchinson for their weekend baseball series, it was hardly a homefield advantage when they hosted Dordt College this weekend.

Dordt swept Friday’s games, with the Bulldogs salvaging the finale in exciting, comeback fashion on Saturday.

Mac is now 3-4.

A summary:

• Dordt 5, Mac 2 — The Bulldogs let a 2-0 lead get away as the Defenders scored the game’s final five runs. Reigning KCAC Pitcher of the Week Dylan Klava took the loss, though he fanned five in 5 1/3 innings.

• Dordt 4, Mac 3 — Tyler Bailey took the loss despite pitching a nice game as the Mac bats were again silent. Reily Martin picked up two hits and Klava knocked in two runs.

• Mac 8, Dordt 6 — Just when it appeared Dordt was going to pull off a weekend sweep, Mac scored six runs in the seventh inning of the nine-inning game. Corey Taylor was the winner, with Blake Ware notching the save. Nine Mac pitchers threw one inning each.

Klava drove in three runs, one of them with a solo homer.

Mac goes to Oklahoma City this weekend for three games.
