KCAC honors Mac's Bruner

McPherson College basketball standout Ashton Bruner was named Monday as KCAC Offensive Player of the Week.

The McPherson High grad poured in 23 points and just missed a double-double as she pulled down nine rebounds in a 73-71 upset of Oklahoma Wesleyan on Thursday. Mac did not have a game on Saturday as it was the open-date team of the 11-school KCAC.

Bruner is having an All-KCAC-worthy season, averaging 15 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists. She averages 31 minutes a game and also has a team-high 31 blocks.

Bethany College’s Sydney Ahaneku was named Defensive Player of the Week. She had 13 rebounds and five blocked shots as the Swedes split.
