MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge girls moved to 8-1 in the Heart of America League on Tuesday by easing past Ell-Saline, 51-33.
Ashley Holler scored 29 points to lead the Wildcats, including nine free throws. The Wildcats, up 24-15 at the half, pulled away in the second half.
Bethany Stucky added eight points.
The MHS boys continued their late-season charge with a 51-28 victory as they turned to their defense for the easy win. It was 23-6 at the half as the Wildcats totally shackled the Cardinals before the break.
Noah Eichelberger stayed hot with 17 points, while Kyle Stucky and Anthony Otte scored 10 apiece. Dylan Sugars had a nice floor game with six assists and Eichelberger hit the boards for eight rebounds.
“Second game in a row playing against a very active 2-3 zone,” Moundridge coach Vance Unrau said. “We showed good patience, but still not getting the movement that I would like to see. We played hard, but didn't get to as many 50-50 balls as I would like, but we did a nice job on the glass. We spread the scoring around a bit tonight which is nice. Defensively, generated 16 steals which created some transition opportunities for us.”
