HESSTON — Hesston’s 1-2 punch of Kailey Jo Ince and Cami Richardson delivered a 1-2 knockout to Hillsboro on Friday.

Ince scored 16 of her 25 points in the first half as Hesston led 32-25, and Richardson added 20 more as the Swathers came away with a 54-44 victory.

Richardson was 10 of 12 at the line, including 8 of 8 in the first half.

Hillsboro trailed only 38-35 after three quarters, but Hesston then pulled away. Alex Ratzlaff was tremendous in defeat with 19 points.

Hillsboro’s boys stunned Hesston with a 23-point first quarter, but stalled out for the rest of the game as the Swathers were a 63-54 winner.

The triumvirate of Zach Vogt (19 points), Scott Duerksen (16) and Garrett Roth (13) was simply too much for the Trojans.
