The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a recall of sprouts harvested from Sweetwater Farms in Inman after five people in Kansas became ill from Salmonella.

The KDHE says in a press release that an investigation conducted with the Centers for Disease Control into the cases of Salmonella traced back to Sweetwater Farms, with the last reported case back on Jan. 21 in a Kansas resident. Another three cases were also reported in Oklahoma.

Sweetwater Farms has voluntarily recalled sprouts in lot 042016, though the KDHE is recommending that you not eat any sprout product from the Inman operation at this time.
