OKLAHOMA CITY — Pitcher Lane Fleming’s four-hit gem sparked McPherson College’s baseball team to a 3-0 victory over Hastings College of Nebraska on Sunday as the Bulldogs completed a three-game road weekend with a winning 2-1 record.

Fleming needed an economical 80 pitches as he did not allow a walk and fanned three in the seven innings. That win moved the Bulldogs to .500 on the year at 5-5 after they were 8-44 last season.

Trent Smith provided much of the offense by going 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Reily Martin had the game’s big blow, a triple.

The Bulldogs return to action quickly, playing city rival Central Christian College in a single game on Tuesday with a scheduled 5 p.m. start at Tiger Stadium, the former Light Capital Diamond.
